Just when you thought I was gone forever ...

... I am reappearing like a Jack in the box! I never meant to go away but after a huge thunder storm early Wednesday morning last week we had no telephone or Internet access until late Sunday night. Not fun. Not fun at all.

But I am here now!

I think I have somehow overlooked these photos of a table setting I made for a party last year. I figure now that we're almost half way through the year, enjoying the summer season, I'd show you these and get you all jonesing for Christmas again. LOL, yes, for real!

A template freebie

I said the other day that I was planning for some freebies, and I wasn't lying. I made another template that I want to share with you. it's a very structured and clean one this time but I think it would be easy to beef it up if you wanted to.

Click here for a download link. As always I would love it if you left me a comment when you download. Also, please take time to read, and then follow, the TOU.

An invitation to a graduation party

My cousin graduates from high school next month and I was asked to make the invites for his party. I was given two directions; incorporate music, and use black & white. He is a musician and into rock music so I wanted to create something that would reflect his personality and interests and saw before me a rock poster so that is what I aimed for. He was very happy with the outcome so I think I nailed it.

Project 52 and a party

Sheesh! Did I go on a holiday trip or something? Yeah, I wish! No, I have been splitting my time between work and splitting headaches. Lots of fun, right? Not so much to be honest.

I had grand plans for this place, including a few freebies, new scrap layouts and lots of photos. I guess just the photos will have to make do.

First, project 52!

My goddaughter at the party on Sunday celebrating her 4th birthday. She is such a delightful little girl. So pretty and a true joy to be around.

Some other photos related to her party:
Her mum, my friend Anneli, made these super cute cupcakes for dessert (along with a huge Barbie cake).

And then here is the present. I made the bows out of wrapping paper. It was really easy to do. I was in a slight rush so I simply cut strips with scissors and glued the ends of each strip together, forming a circle, and then arranged them on top of eachother with a small flower on top and then fastened the deal with a brad. Easy peasy. One could be more careful and cut the strips with a ruler and knife and perhaps also use double sided paper (with different patterns on each side) to avoid the white backs showing.

Duni tabletop award

Here is a tip for all my Swedish friends interested in table settings and party decorating: Duni is giving a competition at their website where the challenge is to upload one or more table settings. The winning decor will recieve a dinner by last year's chef of the year.

I have uploaded some of my recent settings, mostly just for fun, and all of you can have a look at them, and also vote if you want HERE!

The state of the making

The appointment today regarding the graduation party invite I have been asked to do went very well. I was given two pointers beforehand; music and black/white. So I had two mock ups with me to show as jumping off points and one of them ended up being the final choice. I love it when that happens. It means I have found found the right expression and the feel of the person. It also means less work, lol. I can't show it just yet because I know there are people reading this blog that are on the recipients list. But I will come back to it next week, that's a promise.

Tomorrow I have an appointment to kick start the work of a travel photo book. This will be a longer and more labour intensive process but I am so much looking forward to it.

And, the husband and I have thought about starting a blog together. A cooking blog. See, he's a chef and cooks lovely and delicious food. The idea is for him to present different recipes and ideas about food, and for me to showcase him by photographing it. We have done a few test runs to see if we can work together and to find out what we need to think about for it to turn out well. So far so good I think so we might just give it a go. So I'll be leaving you today with a photo from one of those test runs.

Project 52, week 18

Blogging has been slow this week and I apologize for that. I have been trying to recouperate from a painful neck at the same time as working on some upcoming projects. I have one photo book and a graduation invite to make in the next two weeks. So I have tried to keep computer time to a minimum outside of working on that.

I did take a couple of photos though. This is from the other night when we took advantage of the lovely weather and fired up the grill.
