The comeback

Celebrating like you wouldn't believe right now! The computer was picked up from the shop tonight - and get this - every little thing was saved. Am I not the luckiest girl in the world right now? I think I might be.

My first point of order is, of course, to back everything up.
Then I think I might do a dance.
Then I will start working like crazy again. Because I think I have some exciting stuff to share very soon. :D

Before all of that though, I want to take the time to thank you guys for coming here to offer support and for your emails. I really appreciate you guys.

I'll see you tomorrow with some photos for P52.

Involuntary blog vacation

My friends, I am sad to say it, but there won't be much posting around here for a few weeks. The reason is that my computer died on Thursday night.

The memorial service (includin alcohol) that I had planned for last night was put on hold for a few weeks as my husband went to have it serviced yesterday. Hopefully they will be able to recover all the stuff I had on there; and let this be a lesson my friends, don't ever be as lax about backing up as I have been the last couple of months.

It will take two or three weeks before I can get the computer back, if they can fix it, so until then all creative work on my part, as far as digital goes, will be nonextistant. So if I don't post much here, at least you know why.

I promise I will come back with full force as soon as I can. And I think I will be able to bring some good news with me then.

So hang loose, people, we'll see eachother soon again!

Valentine's word art freebie

I had a request the other week to modify the word art that was featured in the Valentine's card. I said it would be up during the weekend but due to unforseen life changing events I didn't get the chance. But a promise is a promise so here it is.

Please read and follow the TOU. This download is for personal use only.

The block letters, in the PNG file, have a lower opacity so don't pay too much attention to the washed out look of the jpeg. :D

I was asked to make another painting for my coworker, and one for another coworker so I am going to try to get that started this week. I also have a few really big things to get sorted so this means I might not be here too much for the rest of the week. Don't miss me too much! :D

Project 52 - delish dish

This week's photo is today's lunch that had me oohing and aahing. As some of you might now, my husband is a chef and he spoils me rotten with delicious food. I wish that my photos could convey how good his food really is. I guess that is partly why I have such a big interest in food photography.

Today the lunch consisted of a soup of sunchoke (or Jerusalem artichoke) and crostini with mushroom and prosciutto.

And not to disappoint, dinner tonight will be grilled lamb chops and baked veggies.
I know, I live a good life!

Oh, and the P53 photobook arrived from Shutterfly on Friday. Oh the joy! I was in heaven all Friday night, and kept looking through it. I am so glad I decided to do this project. If you still haven't started and if you are on the fence, all I can say is whip that camera out and get started!

Going down - quite literally - a snowy layout

One thing is sure, overtime and business trips totally zaps all creativity from this body. All I think about when I come home is to sleep. But I just had to scrap the pictures my husband took of me sledding down the snowy hill on a kiddie sled on Sunday. I feel it isn't finished but I'll let it go for now and come back to it if I feel like it sometime.

I will be back on Saturday with the modified wordart for the Valentine's card.

Blog pimping

My friend Jessica, or Dr V rather, at Pawcurious has been nominated for not one, but two bloggie awards; best new blog and best designed blog.

Jessica is smart, funny, and an excellent writer, and even if you don't have a pet of your own you will enjoy reading her blog. Chances are you will also fall in love with her adorable little puppy Brodie.

Check her out, and if you like her, vote for her at 2010 bloggies.
