walking on water | an icy cold photo shoot

So I shared a photo on Sunday for my P52 photo of the week of us walking on the frozen sea on the beach. I'd like to share a few more shots. I don't have too many. It was so cold that my fingers were ready to fall off after about five minutes. But I really like the texture of the ice in some of the shots. So now that I am sitting in the comfort of my sofa (with a blanket covering my legs and sporting a big wooly cardigan) I can say it was worth it.

This last one is proof that people are crazy. That's a hole someone made to actually jump in! Crazy, I tell you!

  1. I was wondering how you guys were doing with the freezing temps. I know it's wreaking havoc for thousands of people across hundreds of communities, but I have to say it's all very gorgeous.

  2. We got hit with the cold quite late, not until the last couple of weeks. This winter has actually been much easier than the last two where snow and cold came in November and lasted until March. That was very hard for my psyche.

Since I live as far south in Sweden as you can get, we haven't had as low temps as the north - it's been crazy cold there - but I have to say that we are pretty well prepared for cold here in Scandinavia. The houses are built for it, and there's a law to have winter tires on the car from December 1st to March 31st, for example. It's not like the southern parts of Europe where they are used to sun all year round and freak out when there are two snowflakes on the ground.

But I always say that I was born in the wrong place. I'm not cut out for cold. So even though it's gorgeous to look at, I'd still rather look at greenery and blooms! :)
