laying it out | december day

I created this double spread layout the other day when I was feeling like I needed some Christmas cheer.

The photos are from the Christmases of 2010 and 2011 and the journaling talks about the day before Christmas Eve, when we in Sweden celebrate the holiday.

I used a template from the fabulous LivEdesign's new template album set called Center of Attention. This album set would be the perfect product for those of you who are planing on doing December Daily using digi supplies.

Here's the left page on its own.

2013 calendar poster

I decided that I need to spruce up my office space at work with some pretty photography and happened to see the 2013 calendar posters by Paislee Press. I knew that was exactly what was needed. And ok, to be honest, I could have put it together in Swedish from scratch but honestly I was lazy and felt this will work just as well. Why work harder than you need to, right?

I'm going for the 16x20 poster (40x50 cm) and will frame it with a Ribba frame from IKEA.
I've used photos from my Project 52 this year, not counting December of course which had to be from last year.

I love how it came out. The different colours of all the photos makes this very colourful while still being very clean thanks to Liz' fabulous design. I am very happy.

laying it out | digi holiday card

Friends, I want to share with you a digital card I created with some super pretty new brushes by Nancie Rowe-Janitz that are released today at JessicaSprague.com. I will likely use it as a back up for friends who wont get a Christmas card.

(Supplies: Holiday Magic Photo Masks by Nancie Rowe-Janitz)

The photo was taken by moi last New Years Eve when I was confined to the house due to a nasty stomach bug and had to ring in the new year by myself. During the small bursts of energy I set up a small photo set and shot a few photos. The bottle stayed unopened, though. Let's hope that this year won't end the same was as last year.

photography | a hike in pictures

Last week I went on a little hike with my husband and father. The plan was to see some pretty sights and to try and get som nice shots. The weather was super grey and foggy when we left home that morning and when we got to the spot, it was so windy and typically November like that I was a teensy bit discouraged. It was so windy at the top that I almost had to catch my breath a couple of times.

But we did our thing and, apart from using up three packs of tissues and losing one glove, it was a really nice day. I also think I got a couple of half decent shots.

I think these next two are fun to look at together. Water can look very hard and cold, or very soft and inviting, depending on what settings is used in the camera.

To get to a nice little cove, with a few grottos, we had to walk through a soft and cool wood area. I think these two photos depict the fairytale atmosphere pretty well.

By the time we were ready to back to the car and drive home, the sun had come out but was already starting to set (granted, it does that quite early by now) and it looked like the ground was on fire with all the leaves covering the dirt. It was magical.

I am so glad to live close to breathtaking scenery like this.

laying it out | roma travel album part 1

Sometimes I wonder what really goes on inside my head. Sometimes I start things on a whim without thinking all too much about what it really involves as far as workload is concerned.

The other day I had a few hours of downtime and instead of just sitting back, enjoying my free time, what do I do? Oh, I start another huge project of course. I got this idea that I could make the album I've been meaning to do with the photos from our trip to Rome in September. As if I could make a whole album, from about two million photos, in two hours!

But high marks for ambition, right?

Now this album is going to take a while. So far I've done twelve pages (six spreads) and I haven't even finished the photos from the first day! But I am so in love with the layouts that I just can't hold off sharing them. This is going to be one great book. Of course, what else is to be expected with photos from Rome?

As you can see, there is no journaling at all. I had to make a decision to exclude it in order to cope with even thinking about finishing this album. That might be a decision I will regret in 25 years, but at the moment I figure it's better to have at least have the album with the photos. I think I will add captions with restaurants and such though, as they aren't as permanent as the famous sights after all.

I will probably share more layouts as I finish them so please have patience with me here!

wedding album | magnus & jenny

I was finally able to finish the photo album with the photos from the wedding of my BIL and his lovely wife. It's been a long time coming, constantly being pushed back by one thing after the other. Then my dear friend Liv of Liv.e Design stepped up and offered to help me on my way by creating a set of templates so that it would simply be for me to plop the photos in and finally get it finished.

I am so pleased with the results, and the album is on its merry little way over here as I write this.
The pages are completely focused on the photography, with just a very light background paper. Liv's excellent templates helped me stay true to my vision. The template set will be available at JessicaSprague.com on Monday November 19, 2012.

If you would like to see the whole album just click the button below and sit back.

laying it out | forever love

I a a lucky girl. I have the most amazing husband ever. Looking at the picture of him from our walk in the woods the other week gives me the feeling of being safe and protected and so very at home. I love him so.

laying it out | fairytale

Happy digital scrapbooking day!

How are you celebrating this momentous holiday of great importance?
I have spent it trying to nurse a bad cold by sleeping, watching TV, and reading. I can definitely say that it was nice. I only wish I hadn't felt so bad, maybe then I could have enjoyed it a little more?

I also took advantage of some of the sales going on in the digi scrap world. I mean, who can say no to a sale? Judging by my shopping habits, I guess I would have a hard time with that. LOL!

I created this layout with one of my newly purchased kits.

(Supplies: Fairytale Kit by One Little Bird and Paislee Press, Rockin' Template by In the Making Design)

I now feel I can retire back to my pillows and blanket feeling like I actually accomplished something today.
