bookmaker | london album

I finally got around to ordering my London album (from our trip in August last year). I finished the pages a couple of months back, I think, but didn't upload them to Blurb for some reason.

But today I did! I cannot wait to see it in real life!

Edited:
OK, so here is where I had a link to my book on Blurb. But apparently they won't show the book unless I set it up for selling. I'm not so hot on that idea, as I think and hope you will understand.

If you have forgotten what the pages look like, please do feel free to go back and check my many posts on the topic!

Sorry folks! I think I found one thing I would rather Blurb to improve on here!

project life | week of july 14

Hello and welcome to the weekly installment of Project Life here on my blog.
Las week was a good one, with beautiful weather, lots of fun little things happening, and me in a pretty decent place.

I am still struggling with deciding what to do once I finish a full year next week. Right now it seems my only option is to keep going until the end of the year with this format, but print it in a separate book. It's not ideal, and it bugs me a lot, but to be honest it hurts more to let go of the initial idea of covering my last year as a 30-something. But, yeah, I am still debating with myself. If anyone wants to give me their thoughts, I would appreciate it!

laying it out | in summer mode

I'm in full summer mode at the moment. Of course, as I am typing this the rain is pouring down outside. Now that is typically Swedish summer for you! But we have had some great days lately and I am looking forward to more. This has found me in the mood to scrap all summer layouts!

So for as long as I can remember I have hated the beach and the water.
One, I am very afraid of water (which is due to an incident when I was a kid) and will only swim if I know I can put my feet down and touch the ground. I will never, ever put my head under water.
Two, I get sunburned very easily, and also got melanoma 10 years ago, so I don't want to be half naked in the sun.
Three, I have hated the way my body looks since I was in my early teens, so I don't want to be half naked period.
This means I very rarely join in the fun when swimming is on the agenda.

I have been contemplating the situation for a while and have decided that I need to change this. I don't want to miss out because I have issues with cellulite and saddle bags. I don't want to feel bad about myself. I don't want to put focus on the less than stellar parts of my body. I don't want the kids around me to remember me as the bore who never played along, and I certainly don't want to set a bad example regarding body image. So I made this layout. And I bought myself a bikini and hit the pool.

And even though there are no pictures of me in the pool, let's not go too far right away, this happened that night. The boys are such water animals, and they spent most of the afternoon and night splashing around.

I recently became lactose intolerant, which means that it's hard for me to find good ice cream out and about. This is a bit of a sad thing for me as I absolutely love ice cream. Especially the soft and fluffy kind you get in Italy. We did get an ice cream maker so that I can make my own, so I think I'm going to live. This photo is about a moment in the summer of 2013 when we visited with my sister and her boyfriend in Milano.

I have never been good at lounging around, doing nothing. It literally crawls under my skin when I have nothing to do, even if it's just perusing Pinterest. But it's a thing that I need to work on, and what better way than working on it on a sunny day under an unbrella in the garden?

project life | entering the final stretch

The final stretch! Of my first year as a Project Lifer, that is! This month I will be completing what I set out to be a project about my last year in my 30s. I can't tell you how excited I am to get the layouts uploaded to Blurb and that album ordered.

But with being so close, I found myself feeling more pressure for the pages to be perfect. It's a stupid thing, really. Because here I have done 100 pages for this album and now I worry about the last ten? Also, whatever is perfect anyway? But yes, I have been in agony over my colour choice for the month (I finally settled with blue/aqua to round off where I started a year ago), placement, photos, journaling. That is why it took a while to get these pages posted. Sitting here writing this I am realizing that having the pages done is so much more important than them being "perfect". I will have to be careful to put that kind of pressure on this project. It's not good for me.

So here are the pages for the last week of June, and the two first of July.

With being so close to completion, it has me thinking about what I should do with the remainder of the year. I know I want to keep documenting but being the way I am, I know I want to start a new project on Jan 1, 2015 and then do a full calendar year. But that leaves five months of 2014. Do I make a separate album for those months? And do I continue with this format? Do I make it easier on myself and just go with the "normal" Project Life format? So many thoughts, so many questions. I have a few more weeks to go before I need to decide. What would you advise?

laying it out | a little bit of this ...

I always participate in the Digimorph games at Pixels and Company. In June we kicked off another one. Never took part? Check out the forums for the reveal post to see some really beautiful work. The game goes like this: One layout is chosen from the gallery by our fearless leader Kat. The layout is sent to two people taking part. They scraplift and then send it on. And so it goes until everyone signed up have created a layout on their own. It's like that whispers game we played as kids, you know?

Anyway, this time I was first up to create a layout and this was the result:

Summer has been giving us both good and bad weather so far. We are still working for a couple of weeks before it's time for summer holiday, but we are doing our best to enjoy the days. Nothing so far has compared to this one night about a year ago though. I had to remember and indulge for a while, and created this layout:

My little nephew spent a day with me last week, and we spent a good deal of it pretending we were pirates on a big ship, at the local playground. It was nothing short of blissful. Naturally, he was the captain who kept losing his coconuts and fishing rods. Naturally I was the deck hand who had to climb up and down getting them. LOL! But what I wouldn't do for him!

And, no, I haven't forgotten about Project Life! I will do a post tomorrow!

laying it out | template challenge and freebie

I am hosting the template challenge at Pixels and Company this month, and yes, you guessed it! With a template challenge comes a template! Come on over and play along, why don't you? The challenge is up for the month of July.

This is the template freebie that I made:
