thursday love | decade

My Thursday love this week is me! Today is my wedding day! Yay!
This is us 10 years ago.

Please, please disregard the atrocious scrapbook layout - I made it for our 6th anniversary, I was new to scrapbooking and really didn't know what the heck I was doing. What you should focus on is the photo in the layout. I couldn't be bothered to go look for digital copies of the wedding photos so you will have to make do with this, sorry!

This is us now-ish.

This was taken last summer at a wedding but it's the latest photo I have of the two of us together.

Happy anniversary to us!

P52 - back with a bang

I can hardly believe it's been five weeks since I posted about P52! I've spent the past two weeks editing, editing, editing, designing some digi goodness, a tattoo, a christening invite, and then some more editing. Wow, a lot of hours in front of the compy I tell you. It's a good thing it's been raining for most of these two weeks, lol.

So, five week's worth of weekly photos! Let's dive right in!

#29, 2010
Our fava beans exploded right before we left for Italy. We got to enjoy some of them before the trip but I think my BIL and his family got the better part of the goodies, lol. In any case, they were delish!

Our first week in Italy. Oh man, the sights we've seen. I had such a hard time choosing which photo to use for this and next week. I mean, how can you go wrong with a gorgeous place like Tuscany? This was taken in Montepulciano.

#31, 2010
We spent my birthday in Cinque Terre, and I fell deeply in love. The day was gorgeous, albeit very very hot, and we spent all day in the five towns. This is the small harbour of Vernazza. The boats are a little further out (just to the left of my shot) and the beach is quite lovely, see how clear the water is!

#32, 2010
We had the pleasure of attending a beautiful wedding and I got some seriously awesome pictures of the gorgeous couple. I am particularly in love with this one.

Just a shot of a bench in town that I quite like the look of.

Alright, now I just need to figure out how to easily share some more of our holiday photos without too much work on my part ...

All creatived out

OK, so today I have finsihed the last details of the programme designs and then hand cut (with exacto knife and ruler) and folded 50 sheets of 12x12 cardstock into 100 booklets. My fingers and wrists are feeling it right now.

Tomorrow I start printing the insides. Will probably spend next week cutting and assembling.

All I want to do now is to collapse on the sofa with a cold drink and pat myself on the back for a job well done.

Update on creative projects, a new one, plus a CT layout

Remember the photo book I was asked to make for my sister's ILs? I finally finished it this past weekend and sent it off for approval. I got word the other day that they absolutely loved it and the book is ordered and eagerly awaited. Since the photos in the book aren't mine I can't share with you the results. You will just have to trust me that it turned out great. I used the Create a book posted collection by Katie Pertiet and the A beautiful day kit by Mindy Terasawa, all from Designer Digitals.

I am in the midst of completing the designs for the wedding stationary I have been working on for quite a while. The invitations went out in Aoril. What I'm doing now is the ceremony programme and also a booklet for the reception that will double as a place card, a menu, and that gives fun little facts about each guest. We also included some beautiful love quotes. They were both sent for approval tonight. I am hoping to start production this weekend. If the couple agree, I will be sharing them here shortly.

My new project, which isn't really all that big, is a birthday celebration. Someone is turning 35 in two weeks. That someone has decided to host a dessert buffé party for the closest family. And that someone wants a really cheery and bright theme that is still chic and sassy. The invites, that were hand deliviered (because of laziness mostly, lol) were created with this in mind.

The next step to tackle is to find some fun decorations for the table. I have a few ideas that might work out really well.

I created another digital scrapbooking layout for Jessica Sprague. Orchard & Broome has a new kit out called Bleecker St that I loved right from the minute I saw it.

Lilac Wedding invitation

I have been working on a wedding invitiation for a friend of a friend for a while and can finally post the finished product.

It's a two page folder with a belly band an extra insert in two beautiful lilac/purple shades. The bride and groom wanted a modern feel to the invitation but also wanted to incorporate some whimsical elements somehow.

I think the size works tremendously well with a modern look and I especially like that the text being on two pages lets the decorative flourish take center stage without making it look cluttered.

So next move is to start working on the ceremony programme as well as a small treat for the reception afterwards.

Project 52, week 14 and more

What a truly lovely weekend! The weather has been fantastic and we've had a wonderful time together all weekend. I took a bunch of photos yesterday while out and about. This week's shot for project 52 was taken yesterday.

#14, 2009
I've seen this sea of blue flowers all week on my way to work. Yesterday I made Johan go out of our way so that I could photograph it. I absolutely loooove spring!

Here are two other photos from yesterday that I really like, for obvious reasons.

The man also took a photo of me. It needed some editing; a crop and a PW action (Seventies) set at 50%. I don't hate it.

In other news I am waiting on the papers for that wedding invite I briefly mentioned a while back to arrive. I am itching to get started, it involves a lot of cutting and folding, so let's hope they get here soon. I will share once I have one finished.

Also, I have started working on the book for our Milan trip. Unfortunately I have run into writer's block the scrapper's edition and have only finished the cover and the very first spread. But I'll keep staring at the blank 24x12 page in PS and hope something pops up behind that scull bone of mine.

Oh what a week! So many overtime hours that my head is actually spinning. But yeah, I did, don't be too shocked now, SCRAP! I know! Can you believe it. Let's not get too excited here. It's only one layout. But I've heard one is better than nothing. Not sure that was in regards to scrap booking but I'll take it.

I also made the invites to my sister's 25th birthday party. The theme is 80s bubble gum. I think the look of the invites work pretty well. I will take photos of them tomorrow.

I have been asked to do the invites, programmes, and thank you cards for a wedding in August so I hope to get cracking on that this weekend. They are going out in April so I have some time, but not too much. I can't wait!
